Applications are invited for Casual Recreation Worker 5’s in the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department at the City of Langley.  We are looking for enthusiastic Pilates Instructors.  The successful candidate will design and instruct safe, effective and appropriate fitness programs to meet the needs of different demographics and programs. Fitness classes will be developed to promote safety, fun, enthusiasm, strength and a healthy lifestyle.  

RATES OF PAY:        Recreation Worker 5:  $24.74- $28.87 (2015 C.U.P.E. Rates)   
        
HOURS OF WORK:   *Up to 35 hours per week.  
                                 Tuesdays:        7:00 p.m. to   8:00 p.m. 
                                 Thursdays:       7:00 p.m. to   8:00 p.m.

*Depending on certifications and availability, there may be the opportunity for successful candidates to sub for other group fitness programs within the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department.

Casual employees are paid 12% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid annual vacation.

Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.  BCRPA Group Fitness, Pilates Certification and current First Aid Certification are required.  Details of the position and requirements can be found in the job description.

Applications are invited for a Regular Full-Time Plan Checker/Inspector to work in the Development Services and Economic Development Department.  Under the direction of the Chief Building Inspector, the Plan Checker/Inspector is responsible for review of plans for a variety of construction projects and for inspection of buildings during construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, established by-laws, acts, codes, standards and regulations.

RATE OF PAY:         Pay Grade 26:  $37.79 (2015 C.U.P.E. Rates)

HOURS OF WORK:  35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

A Level 1 Building Official Certification from the Building Officials’ Association of B.C. and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence are required.  Graduation from a program at an Institute of Technology in building technology and a minimum of 2 years experience as a Plan Examiner in a city/municipality in the Province of B.C. with a primary focus on Part 9 buildings is desired.

Applications are invited for the Regular Full-Time position of Intermediate Accountant to work in the Corporate Services Department.  Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Corporate Services, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for preparing quarterly budget forecasts, reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements, assisting in the preparation of year end working papers for audits, handling all accounting operations and for preparing and maintaining records, statements and returns.  The successful candidate will exercise considerable independence of judgment and will have considerable knowledge of the applicable accounting rules and regulations, policies, systems of internal control, accounting methods, practices and procedures and financial systems and computer applications.

RATE OF PAY:               Pay Grade 27:  $36.58 to $39.05 per hour (2015 C.U.P.E. Rate)

HOURS OF WORK:       35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Applications are invited for the Regular Full-Time position of IT Support Technician to work in the IT Division of the Corporate Services Department.  Under the direction of the Manager of Information Services, the IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical assistance to staff using the City’s network, computer workstations and phones.  The IT Support Technician also performs periodic and routine software installation and upgrades as well as the implementation of new equipment and systems.  

RATE OF PAY:               Pay Grade 22:  $31.68 to $33.42 per hour (2015 C.U.P.E. Rate)

HOURS OF WORK:       35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Completion of a technical diploma in Computing and Information Technology plus two years related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experienced is desired.   Training and Experience with VoIP phone systems, cellular phones and other mobile communication devices is an asset.
