Dave believes in open and honest government with genuine consultation, restraint of municipal taxation with the communities interest in mind and sustainable communities that keep what's good CHANGE what's not!
Dave grew up in a South Vancouver "suburb" in a post war house that his parents occupied for 50 plus years. There was a dairy farm up the street and only three other houses on the block when Dave was born. He and his brother Ron saw many changes over the years in that locale that in some ways prepared him for the changes that have been seen in Langley: at one time "Where City and Country Meet" and now "The Place To Be". The Langley City that Dave and new bride, Ellen, moved to in 1982, delivered an urban/rural setting that offered the same kind of convenience and affordability that attracted his parents to their original home. Not only a great place to raise a family, certainly the kids Amanda and Andrew thrived, but a place to establish roots and settle in for the long term. A "City" is going to increase in density, bringing challenges to be met in terms of housing, infrastructure, and even crime. With growth one should also consider preserving what's outstanding in residential areas because this kind of yardspace and greenspace is surely the envy of our neighbours in adjoining municipalities.
