City of Langley Celebrates Move For Health Day with Free Activities

Langley, BC – The City of Langley is offering complimentary drop-in programs and activities on Tuesday, May 10th at the Timms Community Centre and the Langley Lawn Bowling Club in celebration of Move for Health Day.

The annual event, started in 2002 by the World Health Organization, is designed to promote physical activity and encourage people of all ages to get moving.

“We wanted to celebrate Move for Health Day by bringing the community together and supporting healthy active living,” said Kim Hilton, Director of Recreation, Culture and Community at the City of Langley. “This is the perfect time to come check out the Timms Centre and the Langley Lawn Bowling Club, try a new activity, and find something you enjoy.”

The City of Langley is celebrating Move for Health Day with the following free programs and activities:


Timms Community Centre (20399 Douglas Crescent, Langley)


Parent & Tot: 10:15-11:45am

Open Gym: 12-1:45pm

Badminton: 2-4pm


Fitness & Weight Room

Seniors Cycle: 10-11am

Weight Room: 10am-1pm & 8-9:45pm

Yoga Express: 1:10-1:50pm



Langley Lawn Bowling Club (20471 54 Avenue, Langley)

Lawn Bowling

1:30-2:30pm & 6:30-7:30pm

Coaches will be available to assist anyone who drops-in to try lawn bowling. Participants must wear flat-soled shoes.
