In response to speed concerns in the City, the City of Langley will be implementing traffic calming measures in two phases at the following locations:
50 Avenue – 196 Avenue to 200 Street
198 Street – 53 Avenue to 56 Avenue
Michaud Crescent – 201 Street to 201 A Street
201 A Street – 56 Avenue to Michaud
Over the next week, phase 1 speed bumps will installed, and Phase 2 traffic calming measures, including curb extensions and signage, will be completed in winter 2017/2018.
Projects are weather dependent and traffic delays are expected. The City developed the plan in consultation with neighbourhood residents and it was approved by Council in fall 2017. Langley City Council has allocated $400,000 to traffic calming initiatives this year.
