Applications are invited for Parks Workers for Temporary Full-Time and Casual assignments in the Parks Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department. These assignments are anticipated to begin June 2021 and end mid-October 2021, subject to operational requirements.   Parks Workers perform a variety of manual duties in the maintenance of floral areas, turf, sports fields, playgrounds and related areas and the maintenance and minor repairs of park buildings.

RATE OF PAY:              $29.08 per hour (2019 C.U.P.E. rate)

HOURS OF WORK:     Temporary Full- Time hours are 40 hours per week 
                                     Casual hours are up to 40 hours per week
                                     (Primarily Monday to Friday, but some weekend shifts may be required)

Temporary Full-Time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment.  Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of all benefits.   

The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance of parks and other landscape work. Details of the position and its requirements can be found in the job description.

You must include with your application a current Personal Driving Record (select the 5 year option if obtaining online) that has been obtained within 6 months of the closing date. To obtain a copy of your Personal Driving Record, please contact ICBC directly or the driving authority where you reside. Please note that a copy of your Driver’s License and the Drivers Factor Report will not be accepted. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Police Information Check before commencing employment.

Easy access to the USA, the Pacific Ocean and the vast Coastal Mountain range makes Langley City an enviable place to live and work. The City has one of the most active industrial and service commercial land bases found in the Lower Mainland.  

Langley City is recruiting for 3 regular full-time positions of Firefighter; an opportunity to join a progressive and innovative fire department.

o    No more than 6 points and no current suspensions or prohibitions from driving 
•    Current and valid NFPA 1001 Level 2 Certification 
•    Current and valid NFPA 472 Hazmat Materials Operations Certification
•    Current and valid First Responder Level 3 with AED and Spinal Endorsements or Emergency Medial (EMR) (OFA3) Responder or Occupational First Aid Level 3 or Paramedic License (BLS or ALS)
•    Current and valid CPR Level HCP

Hours of work are an average of 42 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. Starting rate of pay is $31.58 per hour (IAFF 2019 rates). Our comprehensive benefits package is included.
