Langley City, British Columbia –Kick off your summer vacation by attending one of the many free events happening in Langley City this long weekend. From June 28 to July 1, take advantage of the unique experiences offered in our exciting city which includes a pool party, a movie in the park, a live performance and a Canada Day community picnic in Douglas Park.

“To celebrate the start of summer, Langley City hosts four events in four days. We hope to have something that will appeal to all members of our community,” said Kim Hilton, Director of Recreation, Culture and Community Services.


School’s Out Inflatable Pool Party (for all ages)

Thursday, June 28    1:00pm – 4:00pm

Al Anderson Memorial Pool, 4949 207 Street, Langley

Bring your own inflatable and attend for free! (Regular pool policies apply)



Summer Movies in the Park Series: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (PG)(2017)

Friday, June 29   7:30pm – 11:30pm

Douglas Park, 20550 Douglas Crescent, Langley

The first night of our Summer Movies in the Park series will begin with games and activities at 7:30pm, followed by a free outdoor screening and a paid concession on-site.


Hello Summer

Saturday, June 30   11:00am – 2:00pm

Douglas Park, 20550 Douglas Crescent, Langley

Langley City welcomes Will Stroet & the Backyard Band to the stage, followed by Urban Animal Safari, and Science World Live. Balloon twisters, face painters, games and crafts will also be on-site.


Canada Day Community Picnic

Sunday, July 1   10:00am – 2:00pm

Douglas Park, 20550 Douglas Crescent, Langley

Grab your friends and family, pack a blanket and picnic lunch, & come on down to Douglas Park for live music, games and activities.
