Celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday

Langley City, BC - Canadians from across this great country will be celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday on July 1st, and in Langley City, residents are invited to attend two free public events.

Al Anderson Memorial Pool, 4949 207 Street, will be hosting a free Canada 150 Celebration public swim from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.  Glide down the slide, stroll across walk-in mat, and jump off the diving board while bubbles and music are playing in the background at the Canada 150 themed pool. Swimmers are encouraged to wear red and white to enter a draw, and win swimming passes and lessons.

Penzer Action Park, 198 C Street, Vancouver’s Parkour Origins has organized the PKBC 11 Parkour Jam at the largest parkour course in Canada, Penzer Action Park. PKBC is a yearly gathering to celebrate parkour in the province of British Columbia. Parkour professional from all over the region will be showing their skills. The event starts at 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to park at Buckley Park, 14688 48 Avenue, and walk down to the event as park is limited.

In celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday, Langley City released a “Happy Birthday Canada” video filmed at the June 17, Canada 150 themed Community Day event. We encourage you to take a moment to celebrate with us.
