Acknowledging the Traditional Territory of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui and Semiahmoo First Nations

Council adopted a resolution that at the beginning of each Council Meeting held in Council Chambers Council would formally acknowledge that the land on which they gathered is on the traditional unceded territory of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui and Semiahmoo First Nations.

Council also resolved to work with the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui and Semiahmoo First Nations to develop appropriate protocols for the City of Langley to use in conducting City business that respect the traditions of these First Nations.

2019 Neighbourhood Profile Update

The 2019 Neighbourhood Profiles were presented to Council for information.  The following six neighbourhoods are profiled with customized Census data provided by Statistics Canada:

The Profiles are updated every five years. 

Permission to Conduct Door to Door Canvassing  

Council granted permission to  the "Know your Neighbour Campaign" volunteers to conduct door-to-door canvassing in the city on Saturday, September 28 and Saturday October 5, 2019 from 10am - 12pm.

Promotion of Rail Safety Week

The City will be promoting Rail Safety Week September 23 to 29 through social media.
