Bylaw 3114 - Intermunicipal Business License Bylaw Amendment

Council adopted  an amendment to the City's Intermunicipal Business License Bylaw to add the Village of Harrison Hot Springs and the City of Merritt to the bylaw.  The bylaw allows trade contractors and construction industry professionals to operate across 13 Fraser Valley municipalities without requiring separate business licenses from each local government.

Bylaw 3115 - Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Rates Amendment Bylaw

Council adopted an amendment to the City's Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Rates Bylaw which increases the consumption charge by $0.08/CM. This increase is to offset an increased allocation of administrative costs from the general fund, additional system testing, as well as increases in wages and supplies.

Bylaw 3116 -  Waterworks Regulation Amendment Bylaw

Council adopted an amendment to the City's Waterworks Regulation Bylaw to increase the water user rate structure in 2020 by increasing the consumption charge by $0.04/CM. This overall increase is to offset the increase in the GVWD rate reflecting the continued water quality improvement capital projects, as well as increases in City wages and supplies.

Bylaw 3117 - Solid Waste Bylaw

Council adopted an amendment to the City's Solid Waste Bylaw to increase the municipal garbage collection service fee by $6 in 2020. This increase is to offset the increase in Metro Vancouver garbage tipping fees.

Arts and Culture Task Group Recommendation - Linwood Park

Council approved a Call To Artist for the creation of a wrap around mural using the Michaud Crescent Inter-Urban Railway as a theme, to be placed on the washroom building in Linwood Park. The Call to Artists will be for ages 16 years and over and will include a cost of up to $2000 for materials and a $1000 honorarium from the public art fund.

Arts and Culture Task Group Recommendation - City Park

Council approved having the Arts and Culture Task Group put out a Call to Artists for a feature art piece at City Park to be located near the picnic shelters at a value of up to $20,000.00 from the public art fund.

Crime Prevention Task Group - Terms of Reference Amendment and Extension

Council adopted an amended Terms of Reference for the 2020 Crime Prevention Task Group and extended the term of the Crime Prevention Task Group to December 31, 2020 in order to allow the group to fulfill its mandate.

Metro Vancouver Board Member Appointment

Council appointed Mayor van den Broek to the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors for 2020 with Councillor Martin to serve as alternate.

Fraser Valley Regional Library Board Member Appointment

Council appointed Councillor Martin to the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board for 2020 with Councillor James to serve as alternate.
