Keep Your Pre-teens and Teens Busy with Youth Adventure Club

Langley City, British Columbia – Langley City Youth offers parents a way to keep their 11 to 18-year-olds busy every other Wednesday in August. Starting on August 1, the Youth Adventure Club will take kids in grades 7-12 on exciting adventures at three local attractions.

Vancouver Aquarium

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

11:30am - 4:00pm ($45 per person)

Canada's largest aquarium features over 50,000 animals and unique opportunities to get close to some of the world's most elusive creatures. Cost includes a full day admission, transportation (private van) and supervision. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and footwear; pack plenty of water and a lunch with snacks or extra money for concession.

 

Golden Ears Provincial Park

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

10:00am - 2:30pm ($15 per person)

The group will go on an easy but very scenic hike along the Gold Creek to the Lower Falls where they will enjoy a picnic lunch. If time allows it, the group will spend some time at the Alouette Lake swimming area before heading home. Participants should pack a lunch, snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, a bathing suit, towel, comfortable clothing, and proper footwear (running shoes).

 

Wildplay Element Park

12:00pm - 4:30pm ($55 per person)

The lower mainland's nature-based adrenaline rush! 9 zip lines, aerial games and all kinds of cool obstacles. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and proper footwear is required (closed toe and no flip-flops), pack plenty of water, a lunch with snacks or extra money for concession.

 

“This is a great opportunity for youth to explore local activities and adventures in the Lower Mainland,” said Youth Recreation Leader, Rebecca Gannon-Snow. “We hope kids can meet new friends, and have new experiences plus – it’s a great way to keep kids out of trouble and gives parents a break!”

All Youth Adventures include transportation, admission fees and supervision.  Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Drop-off and pick up at Timms Community Centre.
