New Official Community Plan & Nicomekl River District Neighbourhood Plan Update

For immediate release

Langley City, BC - The new Official Community Plan (OCP) & Nicomekl River District Neighbourhood Plan have been refined based on community input and are ready to be considered for adoption as a Bylaw by City Council. On May 31, the plans received 1st and 2nd readings from City Council and the next step is a virtual public hearing on June 28.

An engagement summary report details the results of engagement activities that were held in the early months of 2021 to get input on the draft OCP and Nicomekl River District Neighbourhood Plan. These included 2 virtual open houses, an online survey, and referrals to government agencies. The report also describes the changes that have been made to the draft plans to reflect community input.

The public hearing is a final opportunity for public input. We encourage all residents —including those who have followed the process and provided their ideas and feedback across the various engagement activities — to join us in this milestone and express to Council their thoughts on these important documents.
