Timms Community Centre Open House Attracts One Thousand Langley Residents and Visitors

For Immediate Release                                                                               April 13, 2016

Langley, BC – This past weekend, the City of Langley hosted over 1000 people at the Timms Community Centre Open House.

The event featured free classes and activities, including Tai Chi, Zumba, volleyball and bridge, making full use of the Timms Centre’s state-of-the-art amenities.

“We were thrilled by the turnout at the Open House,” says City of Langley Mayor, Ted Schaffer. “It was great to see Langley residents coming out to support the new community centre.”

“I liked having a chance to try out the programs here,” says an Open House attendee. “I think it’s going to be really good for the neighbourhood.”

The City of Langley encourages people to take advantage of their free 7-day passes, which expire at the end of April. Over 2,000 passes were given away between January and April of this year.

“If you’ve already used your pass but want to continue at the Centre, there are some great options available,” offers Mayor Schaffer. “From 10-visit to annual passes, there is something for everybody. Come into the Timms Centre to sign up or receive an annual pass for less than $1 a day!”

The new Timms Community Centre has already grown significantly, with 1,750 new memberships since its initial opening in February. View PDF
