Recreation, Culture and Community Services

PROGRAM & FACILITY UPDATE:

Starting September 13, in accordance with order of the Provincial Health Officer, participants ages 22+ and older are required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination with government issue ID, to participate in certain indoor events or activities offered by the City of Langley will be expected to show Proof of Vaccination at time of arrival. Proof of vaccination is required each time someone participates in one of the listed indoor activities.

The select programs include:

• Weight Room
• Fitness Classes
• Walking Track
• Gymnasium Sports
• Dance Classes
• Social Programs
• Games Room

Security will be checking for proof at the entrance to the facility, please allow additional time when arrive to go through this process.

Anyone 12 years of age or older who chooses to participate in certain indoor events will be expected to show Proof of Vaccination at time of arrival:

• Indoor ticketed events
• Indoor concerts, theatre, dance and symphony events
• Indoor organized events with 50 or more people. (i.e., including but not limited to: wedding receptions, organized parties, conferences and workshops, games, tournaments and meets.)

Exempt activities and programs:

The following recreation programs and services are exempt from the Order and Proof of Vaccination will not be required for access:

• Those participating in youth sport (21 years of age and younger), including adult coaches, and volunteers.
• All other programs offered by the City of Langley’s Recreation, Culture and Community Services for youth (21 years of age and younger) and also includes the adults who need to drop them off, pick them up, or participate with them to provide support.

As a reminder, masks remain required for those 12 years of age and older inside City facilities in all common areas.

Masks are not required when engaged in physical activity such as using the weight room, participating in a fitness class, fitness track, gymnasium sports or swimming.

Timms Community Centre is open for programs, information and registrations Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 10:00pm, Saturday 8:00am to 10:00pm. 8:00am to 8:00pm Sunday's (Stat holidays beginning in October). 

Douglas Recreation Centre is open for programs, information and registrations Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Weight Room - Open for drop in sessions.

Fitness Classes - Open for pre-registration. You may register up to seven (7) days in advance of the class, and up to 15 minutes prior online, over the phone, or in person.

Swimming- Al Anderson Memorial Pool is closed and will re-open in Spring 2022.

Fitness Track and Games Room - Fitness Track and Games Room are now open to the public.  A valid Games and Track pass is required. 

All passes are available to purchase.  Passes that were pre-paid and were suspended due to facility closures, have been extended for the equivalent of the closure period. All passes are non-refundable.

Passes may be un-suspended if participants wish to use their passes for programs. Please phone:  604-514-2940 to find out more about memberships and payment methods.
