Langley City, B.C. – Road improvements and utility upgrades are set to begin along Michaud Crescent, spanning from 200 Street to 203 Street, starting May 2024 and concluding by year-end.
Key project features include:
- Replacement of aging water main
- Introduction of a TransLink-funded protected cycling facility
- Repaving of eastbound Michaud travel and parking lanes
- Implementation of all-way stop control at Michaud/201A Street intersection
- Traffic calming measures along Michaud/201A Street intersection including curb bulges, narrowing of travel lanes, and 30 km/h speed limit
- Upgrade of Michaud Crescent/201A Street intersection with concrete curbs for enhanced walking and cycling safety
- Preservation of existing trees and addition of new ones
- Installation of new driveway curb letdowns at individual building accesses
- Retention of on-street parking on both sides
During construction, temporary street parking prohibitions will be in place to ensure safety and traffic flow. A traffic management plan will minimize disruptions, with contractors adhering to bylaw-regulated hours and keeping residents informed of changes.
