There's nothing like taking a dip in an outdoor pool. The water, the sun, the breeze, it's the only way to soak up the summer. And with the City of Langley's outdoor pool offering children's swimming lessons, lane swimming, public swimming, aquatic fitness, and public rentals, there's something for everyone to get excited about.
Al Anderson Memorial Pool Admission Policies
- Children under the age of 8 years old are required to be accompanied in the water and within arm’s reach at all times by a responsible person aged 16 years or older.
- Children 8 years old and over are required to be 48 inches in height to be admitted without the direct supervision of a caregiver.
- There are to be no more than 2 children under the age of 8 years old per adult. This rule is in place regardless of the swim ability of the child.
- You cannot enter the pool If you are ill. This includes open sores (including cold sores), bandages, exhibiting cold/flu-like symptoms, discharging ears and/or noses, and eye infections.
- Take a cleansing shower.
- Ensure that infants and toddlers wear swim diapers.

Timms Community Centre admission passes may be used for Al Anderson Memorial Pool. The chart above applies to drop-in visits and members of the public who only use the pool. Children under 4 years are free. Family is a combination of two adults maximum (e.g. parents, guardians, grandparents) with children under the age of 19 years, all of whom reside in the same household. Adult season pass is interchangeable between parents.

The Sharks Programs are designed to give youth the opportunity to experience the challenges and benefits of working in Aquatics. The programs include a training session that consists of instruction, shadow guarding, and special event planning. In addition, participants gain practical experience in all of these areas. Once the training session is completed, the participant will be given the opportunity to volunteer during our swimming lessons, public swims, special events and staff in-services.
Taught by Swim Instructor course candidates, these lessons offer participants an opportunity to work on their swimming skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Swimmers will not be assessed or receive a report card. These are practice lessons so swimmers will not have the opportunity to advance to the next swimming level.
Registration will begin on Monday August 19 at 9:00am.
