2022 Annual Report

Council adopted the the City's 2022 Annual Report which provides information on the City’s priorities, operations, and financial position.

Bylaw 3186 - Zoning Amendment No. 181 (RZ07-21) and Development Permit No. DP 09-21

Council gave final reading to Bylaw 3186 which amends the Zoning Bylaw to rezone the properties located at  5370 & 5380 200 Street, 5371 & 5381 200A Street, 20010 & 20020 Michaud Crescent, & 20031 53B Avenue from RS1 Single Family Residential to CD78 Comprehensive Development to accommodate a 6-storey, 113-unit apartment development.  Council then approved the Development Permit for this development.

Alternative Approval Process for Property Acquisition, Infrastructure Upgrade and Improvement Loan Authorization Bylaw 2023, No. 3234

Council passed the following motions required to establish the Alternative Approval Process for Property Acquisition, Infrastructure Upgrade and Improvement Loan Authorization Bylaw 2023, No. 3234:

1. THAT the number of electors in the area to which the Alternative Approval Process for Property Acquisition, Infrastructure Upgrade and Improvement Loan Authorization Bylaw, 2023, No. 3234 applies is 22,065 as determined using the calculation outlined in the staff report dated May 30, 2023.

2. THAT the Alternative Approval Process Elector Response form, as attached to the staff report dated May 30, 2023, be approved.

3. THAT July 18, 2023 at 4:30 pm be established as the deadline for receiving elector responses with respect to the Alternative Process for Property Acquisition, Infrastructure Upgrade and Improvement Loan Authorization Bylaw, 2023, No. 3234.

Amendments to Council Policy CO-68 - Requests for Letters of Support

Council approved amendments to Council Policy CO-68 which provide greater clarity with respect to the types of routine correspondence the Mayor may send on behalf of Council.  Accordingly, the Policy has been re-titled, "Routine Correspondence Sent from Mayor on Behalf of Council".

Award of Tender T2023-017, Downtown Cycling Enhancements

Council awarded Tender T2023-017, Downtown Cycling Enhancements to Lafarge Canada Inc. based on the tendered amount of $401,765.00 (excluding GST) and authorized the Manager of Engineering Services and the Corporate Officer to execute the contract document for Tender T2023-017.
