WEATHER RESPONSE UPDATE: Tue, Dec 20, 8:25am

Date

Truck and plow crews have been working nonstop. They've been attending to roads in priority sequence as fast and as safely as they can (you can view the map of priority routes here: https://langleycity.ca/.../engineering.../snow-ice-control

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Keep roads clear for those who have to be on them.

It's important to keep in mind that heavy snowfall blankets roads quickly, even if our plows have just completed a pass through. In addition, salt and brine that is applied takes some time to get worked in -- as vehicles travel on roads, this helps work salt in to break up ice/snow.

Heavy traffic conditions, stalls and backups can also affect plows ability to get to the routes they need to clear. Our crews are on the road working hard and appreciate your patience.
